Dannible/McKee and Associates, Ltd Announces Eight Professional Staff Promotions

Dannible/McKee and Associates, Ltd. and it's affiliate firm Dannible & McKee, LLP, is pleased to announce the promotion of eight professional staff members for their exceptional efforts during the last year.

Shawn T. Layo, CPA, has been promoted to senior tax manager. Layo has extensive experience in taxation and planning for individuals and closely held companies. He also oversees tax engagements for a variety of the firm’s clientele, with a focus in manufacturing, construction, retail automotive, multi-state corporations, and high net-worth individuals. Layo joined the firm in 2001 after receiving his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Utica College. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and is also a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Angela Janack, CPA, has been promoted to audit manager. Janack joined the firm in 2014 and has experience in the industry specialties of nonprofit and architecture and engineering (A/E). She also specializes in providing audits of employee benefit plans and SOC 1 audits. Janack is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego where she concurrently earned a bachelor’s degree with a dual major in accounting and business administration, and a minor in economics, summa cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration in accounting.  She is a member of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and Beta Alpha Psi, the International Honor Organization for Financial Information Students and Professionals. Janack is also a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a member of the NYSSCPA and the AICPA.

Samuel M. Lyon, CPA, has been promoted to tax manager. Lyon joined the firm’s tax department as an intern in 2013 and transitioned to a full-time staff professional in 2015 after earning his Bachelor of Science in accounting and Master of Business Administration from Le Moyne College. He has vast knowledge and experience in preparing and reviewing both corporate and individual income tax returns, as well as preparing business valuations and ownership transition plans. Lyon is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a member of the NYSSCPA and the AICPA.

Brianna Muenkel, CPA, has been promoted to audit senior. Muenkel works on planning and management of multiple engagements and specializes in performing audit services for employee benefit plan as well as dealerships and construction clients. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, she worked in the accounting department at a local automotive dealership. She earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting from the State University of New York at Oneonta. Muenkel is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a member of the AICPA.

Anthony Pokrentowski, CPA, has been promoted to tax senior. Pokrentowski joined the firm in 2018 and has experience helping in the preparation/review of individual, trust, partnership, s-corporation, and c-corporation tax returns as well as tax closings and year-end tax planning for clients. He also has experience working on business valuations and preparing payroll tax returns for clients. Pokrentowski received both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from the College of Saint Rose. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a member of the NYSSCPA and the AICPA.

Abby K. Sweers, CPA, has been promoted to tax senior. Sweers worked as an intern with the firm from 2017 to 2018 and joined the firm as a full time professional in 2019. She earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting and Master of Business Administration from Le Moyne College in 2018 and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. Sweers is responsible for the preparation and planning for individuals, partnerships and corporations, as well as preparing multi-state returns.

Brandon Townsend, CPA, has been promoted to audit senior. Townsend joined the firm’s audit department in 2017 after graduating from Albright College.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State.  In his position, Townsend is responsible for organizing and managing client engagements and projects.

Sam Wilks has been promoted to audit senior. Wilks joined the firm in 2018 and is responsible for auditing documentation provided by clients to verify accuracy and create financial statements.  She also provides client interaction and manages staff teams for client engagements. Wilks earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 2017 and is a member of the Omicron Delta Kapp, a National Leadership Honor Society.
