Richard J. Maxwell
Richard J. Maxwell, CPA/ABV, CVA, CFF, CDA is a principal with the Firm and has fifteen years of experience working with architectural, engineering and design firms across the country. He has extensive experience in conducting design firm valuations for internal ownership transition, mergers, acquisitions, estate and gift taxes and Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). Rich also works closely with design firms of various sizes in implementing long-term strategic ownership transition plans, incentive compensation plans and equity-based compensation programs.
In addition to business valuation and ownership transition consulting for design firms, Rich also consults with design firms on various corporate and individual income tax issues faced by the design profession. He also serves as an instructor for the Firm’s business valuation, ownership transition and management seminars.
Rich is a graduate of Le Moyne College, is a Certified Public Accountant and has earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He is also a Certified Design Accountant (CDA). Rich is also actively involved in the community as he currently serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of Adapt CNY, Inc. and The Preservation Association of Central New York, Inc. Rich was selected as a 2010 Greater Syracuse 40 Under 40 honoree by the Syracuse University Whitman School of Management.
